A Christmas City Break in Bucharest offers a magical blend of festive markets, cultural charm, and cozy winter experiences.

Relax and enjoy a package that includes airport transfers, accommodation with breakfast, tourist routes, and entrance fees.

Day 1 – Pick-up, guided tour through the City and Dinner

:: Airport pickup
:: Guided Tour through the City – duration 1-1.5 hours. Travel between destinations by car.

  • The National Cathedral, an imposing monument with a height of 127 meters, whose construction began in 2013
  • The Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon (exterior tour), and the Constitution Square (short story)

Day 2 – Wine tasting at the Lacerta Winery and visit the Slanic Salt Mine

Schedule (9:00 – 9:45 a.m. Breakfast):
:: 10 a.m. – 11.30 Travel with the car to the Lacerta Winery
:: 11.30 a.m. – 13 p.m. Visit and wine tasting at the LacertA winery, which operates 82 hectares of vineyards that produce gold medal-winning wine at numerous international competitions. In the center of the LacertA estate is the ‘’Dorobantu Mansion’’, designed by the famous Romanian architect Ion Mincu. The mansion was built in 1901 and represents neo-Romanian architecture. The mansion offers a splendid view over the entire estate.
:: 13 p.m. – 14.30 p.m. Travel with the car to the Slanic Salt Mine
:: 14.30 p.m. – 16.00 pm Visit to Slanic Parahova Salt Mine, the largest salt mine in Europe and the most impressive underground destination in Romania. The Air inside is considered to be the purest air on the planet, beeing free from pollution, allergens and radiation, but rich in salt aerosols (sodium ions).
:: 16.00 p.m. – 17.30 p.m. Return to Bucharest recommended *Dinner at a restaurant serving Romanian specialties – “Caru’ cu bere” / “Casa Doina”

Day 3 – Guided Tour through the Old City and Calea Victoriei (Victory Boulevard)

Schedule (9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Breakfast):
:: 11 a.m. Travel with the car near the old town
:: 11.30 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. Guided walking tour through the Old Town (approx. 5 km round trip). We will have a 30 minutes rest break – time to enjoy a coffee and some pastry. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

The main highlights of the Guided walking tour:
:: The Royal Court is the place where Bucharest’s development began.
:: Stavropoleos Monastery, built in 1724 by the Greek Archimandrite Ioanichi Stratonikeas as a guesthouse-church.
:: The C.E.C. Palace (House of Savings and Records), whose foundation stone was laid in 1897 in the presence of King Carol I of Romania and Queen Elizabeth.
:: Mecca – Villacrosse Passage – This elegant horseshoe-shaped shopping arcade served as a link between Calea Victoriei (Victory Street) and the imposing headquarters of the National Bank.
:: Casa Capsa Pastry Shop – You have the opportunity to sample an exceptional dessert in one of the oldest (founded in 1852) and most famous pastry shops in Bucharest.
:: The Royal Palace, which houses the Art Museum, was built in the 19th century. The Royal Palace building was used as a venue for official events of the Romanian royal family.
:: The Athenaeum houses the famous “George Enescu” Philharmonic and is a center for cultural events, including concerts, art exhibitions, and conferences.
:: A walk along Calea Victoriei (Victory Street) and Piata Amzei – an area with unique architecture, where you’ll find a variety of chic cafes, delicious Romanian pastries (our recommendation), and
fashion stores. We will admire the building “Casa Mita Biciclista” (Michaela the cyclist) , a super example of architecture, mainly in the Beaux-Arts style, but with strong Art Nouveau and Neo-Baroque influences. During the winter holidays, the facade is very unique decorated.
:: 4 p.m. Return to the guesthouse
:: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Visit the Christmas Market in Piata Constitutiei (Constitution Square), featuring a gigantic Christmas tree, experience live concerts, traditional carols, and dazzling display illuminating the Parliament building. Taste the Romanian specialties like sarmale (hearty cabbage rolls stuffed with minced meat and rice served with polenta and sour cream, cozonac (a traditional sweet bread, often swirled with walnut, cocoa, Turkish delight filling). The Christmas Market opens between 29 Nov to 26 Dec. In case your visit takes place before the Christmas market opens, we’ll enjoy the city decorated with Christmas lights and afterwards we recommend dinner at a Restaurant serving Romanian specialties – “Hanu’ berarilor’’.

Day 4 – Visit to the Mogosoaia Palace (outside tour), Tiriac Auto Collection, and transfer to the airport

Depending on the available time:
:: Mogosoaia Palace is one of the most important and beautiful historical monuments in Romania. The Palace was built by Prince Constatntin Brancoveanu and completed in September 1702.
:: Tiriac Collection – a collection of 150 cars owned by former tennis player and current businessman Ion Tiriac
:: Airport transfer
